Drexel University Online welcomed more than 400 new students in the fall of 2007, increasing the overall number of undergraduate and graduate students at the University. One new nursing student, Mary Jane Gray, of Voorhees, N.J., is thrilled to be an online student studying at Drexel.
Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) February 13, 2008 -- Drexel University Online welcomed more than 400 new students in the fall of 2007, increasing the overall number of undergraduate and graduate students at the University. One new nursing student, Mary Jane Gray, of Voorhees, N.J., is thrilled to be an online student studying at Drexel. "What I enjoy most about the online learning format is that I can attend the University and work toward a degree in the comfort of my own home," said Gray.
Empire State College plans to offer its first nursing courses toward a bachelor's degree to at least 40 students this fall.
The Board of Regents approved the school's first health program this week.
The school has hired a nursing program director and three faculty and expects total enrollment to grow to 232 in five years.

Eliot Spitzer is expected to grant final approval soon, according to college officials.
The college will offer 60 to 68 upper-division courses to registered nurses who are interested in earning a four-year degree.
The program was created in an effort to address a shortage of nurses who go on to earn graduate degrees to teach nursing, according to Interim President Dr. Joyce Elliott.
All of the nursing courses will be offered online except for the capstone course in advanced clinical experience.
